OHMYGOD OHMYGOD OHMYGOD OMGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just landed the biggest most incredible opportunity of my life (so far) and I have been chosen by Visionaries of Creative Arts to present, write and perform my own solo comedy show at Atlas Theatre in Washington, D.C!
I will be performing onstage for 3 days (November 8, 9, 10). Voice interpretation will be provided. There will also be descriptive sign-language for deaf-blind members of the audience. You can buy tickets to my show through Atlas Theatre's website. Please check more posts below for information on my show! Thank you, VOCA and Michelle Banks (artistic director) for picking my play! I'm coming back to Houston to perform and present at MATA Expo! I'll be performing Bollywood Burlesque, as well host the expo onstage and celebrate the beauty of world cultures and deaf diversity!
I'm so excited to perform in San Francisco on August 2024! It's an international dance festival for deaf dancers and performers from all over the world. I'm planning to create and perform a Bollywood-inspired burlesque dance and share the JOY with you all ... ! I love San Francisco (I've been there like 6 times and performed once) and I am stoked to meet other deaf performers and watch them! Save the date!
I am very happy and thrilled to perform LIVE and share an intimate evening of music, beauty, love and joy with the audience in Houston! I will be performing five traditional Sufi poems that are related to themes of nature (MOON/SUN, FIRE, WATER, AIR, and EARTH...) and do some dancing onstage! Purchase tickets here!
I will perform onstage for REEL Poetry Festival in Houston, Texas. I will participate in the ASL Slam (hosted by Douglas Ridloff) on April 5, and then perform in the main program with Heba Toulan on April 6. Visit website for more info!
My show "Cleopatra and Isis" is available for bookings. It's a mixture of American Sign Language, dancing, performing and ancient Egyptian prayers. It's a fun show that can run for 20-25 minutes. I would also love to do a workshop for your audience. Interested in bringing me to your city? Your organization, festival, or school may contact me through my website for more information.
I had such an amazing time performing at DEAF Nation in Portland, Oregon! I met and talked to many of you, and I enjoyed hearing about your lives and stories! I also got to stay in Portland for two more nights after the expo to explore and experience the beauty of Oregon. Such a beautiful state! Thanks again, Portland! I'll be back in Oregon again someday!
Sabina England dressed up as Queen Cleopatra VII Philopater, reincarnated as the goddess Isis. Headdress based upon depictions of Egyptian deities and pharaohs. The red circle represents the sun disk, and the snake is called uraeus, which is an ancient Egyptian symbol of power and protection that pharaohs always donned.
