OHMYGOD OHMYGOD OHMYGOD OMGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just landed the biggest most incredible opportunity of my life (so far) and I have been chosen by Visionaries of Creative Arts to present, write and perform my own solo comedy show at Atlas Theatre in Washington, D.C!
I will be performing onstage for 3 days (November 8, 9, 10). Voice interpretation will be provided. There will also be descriptive sign-language for deaf-blind members of the audience. You can buy tickets to my show through Atlas Theatre's website. Please check more posts below for information on my show! Thank you, VOCA and Michelle Banks (artistic director) for picking my play! I'm coming back to Houston to perform and present at MATA Expo! I'll be performing Bollywood Burlesque, as well host the expo onstage and celebrate the beauty of world cultures and deaf diversity!
I'm so excited to perform in San Francisco on August 2024! It's an international dance festival for deaf dancers and performers from all over the world. I'm planning to create and perform a Bollywood-inspired burlesque dance and share the JOY with you all ... ! I love San Francisco (I've been there like 6 times and performed once) and I am stoked to meet other deaf performers and watch them! Save the date!
I am very happy and thrilled to perform LIVE and share an intimate evening of music, beauty, love and joy with the audience in Houston! I will be performing five traditional Sufi poems that are related to themes of nature (MOON/SUN, FIRE, WATER, AIR, and EARTH...) and do some dancing onstage! Purchase tickets here!
Ramadan Mubarak! Here is a poem by Jalaluddin Rumi, which was originally written in Persian, translated to English, and now performed in American Sign Language. The poem is found in Divan-e Shams-e Tabrizi (written around the 1240s CE) and translated to English by Nevit Ergin. I tried my best to translate it to ASL to make it easier for deaf audiences to understand and follow!
