 I will be doing a live performance of "Cleopatra and Isis" for REEL Poetry Festival on February 25, 2023!
I am wearing a recreation of Queen Cleopatra’s traditional headdress inspired by the goddess Isis. Cleopatra was Macedonian Greek by blood but Egyptian by heart. She saw herself as the incarnation of Isis. I am doing research and writing a historical poem with dance, music and video. The images of Cleopatra and Isis was taken from the walls of Dendera Temple, built by the Ptolemaic rulers in Ancient Egypt. More details on my performance will be coming soon.
