"untold: defining moments of the uprooted" is a collection of real stories that explores the South Asian experience in the U.S., U.K., and Canada through the lens of identity, being, and relationships. Thirty emerging voices share deeply personal moments of immigration, infertility, divorce, mental health, suicide, racism, colorism, LGBTQIA+ issues, and more all while balancing the push and pull of belonging to two cultural hemispheres. Every story sheds light on the authentic truths of living as womxn with hyphenated identities that have been only whispered-until now.

I was invited by Deaf West and HowlRound to participate in Deaf Theatre Week and I was asked to share my perspective as a Deaf Playwright.
I wrote a blog post called "Deaf Playwriting: A New Art Form." I suggest that we need to think of deaf playwriting (or deaf theatre) as a new art form.
You can read it here.
Big thanks to DJ Kurs and Ramona for inviting me!
Hey everyone, my new essay "Deaf Performance Art, Sound, and Allah Earth" is published in the new issue of Alt Theatre Magazine, an interdisciplinary performing arts magazine from Montreal, Canada. This issue is focused on diversity and disabilities in the performing arts. Each of us speaks about our works and we discuss how our disabilities intersect with our art. There are many kinds of disabilities highlighted in this issue. Here, I write about how I cannot hear music, yet I understand the importance of MUSIC and how I incorporate MUSIC as a major element in my performance art projects.
Allah Earth: The Cycle of Life, my new ASL poetry mime performance solo show, will be performed this summer, insha'allah... many thanks to Nikki from Alt Theatre for having me write this essay!
